John Barrett MP comments on death of Dr David Kelly
Commenting on the suspected death of Government
Defence Adviser, Dr David Kelly and the expected announcement
that a judicial
inquiry will now be held, John Barrett MP, Scottish Liberal
Democrat Member of the House of Commons International Development
Committee said:
"This is obviously a deep personal
tragedy for Dr Kelly's family and friends. Everyone's
thoughts must be, first and foremost, with them during what
is a very sad and difficult
time.
"If this judicial inquiry is to be
effective then it must have access to all Government documents,
papers and personnel. For
the sake of public trust and confidence, it is crucial that
no stone is left unturned in this investigation."
