What does John’s work in the constituency involve?

I spend about half of my time in my constituency and the other half at Westminster. This normally involves flying down to London early in the week and flying home on a Thursday night. I have a constituency office in West Edinburgh with one full-time and three part-time members of staff.

When I am in the constituency I hold regular surgeries and try to visit as many groups, organisations, schools and community events as possible. If you are aware of something that you would like me to attend please contact me and I will do my best. For example, recently I visited Craigroyston primary school to speak to the pupils and to see their eco-garden. Along with Margaret Smith MSP we participated in a modern studies revision day with pupils from The Royal High School, Forrester High, Tynecastle High, and St Augustines. I regularly support local community events and fundraisers and was recently pleased to attend the RNLI fundraiser in South Queensferry.
